Book the profit you planned, at the level you planned, without being there.

The hardest order to place is the one that takes money off the table while the chart still looks good. Ai4Trades lets you decide the exit ladder in advance — how much comes off, at which level — and then places those orders on your own broker when price gets there.

Partial exits, at levels you set

A profit-booking rule is a ladder: a portion of the position exits at the first level, another portion at the next, and the remainder rides behind a trailing stop. You set the levels and the quantities once, at the point you are calmest about them — before the trade is running.

Every level is drawn at the price it acts on, labelled with quantity and distance from the last traded price, so the plan is visible on the chart rather than remembered.

Why the rule beats the intention

  • The level arrives when you are not looking. Most partial exits are missed by minutes, not by disagreement.
  • At the level, the same chart that justified the target now argues for holding. A rule set in advance does not have that argument.
  • Splitting an exit by hand means several orders, each modified as price moves. It is exactly the kind of work that gets skipped.
  • A single target order is all-or-nothing. Real position management is rarely all-or-nothing.

Profit booking and trailing, together

The two rules are meant to be used as a pair. Book a portion at the first target, book another at the second, and let a trailing stop carry what is left. The result is a position that has already paid for itself and a remainder that can run.

Both rules are part of the same trade path — entry, stop loss, target, trail, profit booking — configured in one place, on the chart or the grid, and both keep running while you are away.

Where you can set it

From the chart, the watchlist, a screener result, the order book, positions and holdings — the trigger system runs on every surface, so the rule you set in one place is the rule that executes. Single, bulk and spread orders, Scalper Pro and the mobile apps all use the same engine.

Orders are placed through the SEBI-registered broker whose account you connect. Ai4Trades holds no funds and no securities.

What it does not promise

A profit-booking rule places an order when price reaches your level. It does not guarantee a fill at that price. Gaps, circuits, halts, thin liquidity, a broker rejection or an outage can all change the outcome, and a target reached in a fast market can be filled well away from it. Read the risk disclosure before relying on any automated exit.

Questions

Can I book profit in more than two parts?

Yes. The ladder is yours to define — you choose how many levels there are, the quantity at each, and what happens to the remainder.

Can the remainder trail after the first target is hit?

Yes. Profit booking and trailing stop loss are designed to work together: book portions at your levels and let a trailing stop carry the rest.

Does it work on options and futures?

Ai4Trades covers NSE and BSE cash, MTF, futures, index options and stock options. Whether a particular contract is available to you depends on the segments your broker has enabled for your account.

Do I pay per order for this?

No. There is no platform fee for core usage and no per-order credit. Your broker charges their normal brokerage and the statutory charges apply, as they would on any order.

What happens if only part of the exit fills?

The remaining quantity stays as your open position and the rest of your rules continue to apply to it. Partial fills are a market reality, not a platform setting — the order book and positions screens show what actually executed.

Trading in equity derivatives carries a high risk of loss. SEBI studies of individual traders in the equity futures and options segment have found that a large majority of them incurred net losses. Consider carefully whether such trading is appropriate for you.

Automation removes the delay between your decision and the order, not the risk in the decision. Triggers, trailing stop losses and profit-booking rules place orders on conditions you set; they cannot protect you from gaps, circuit limits, illiquidity, a rejected order, a broker or exchange outage, or a loss of connectivity.

Past performance and backtested or simulated results do not indicate or guarantee future returns. Paper trading results are produced without real capital at risk and will differ from live outcomes.
